Amusement Parks

Blair County is home to two amusement and water parks. DelGrosso's Amusement Park is well known for, "American's Best Amusement Park Food" and hosts Harvest Fest every September. Lakemont Park is home to the world's oldest wooden roller coaster, Leap The Dips. The park hosts Holiday Lights on the Lake from Thanksgiving through the New Year. Both feature water parks. The parks are only 20 minutes apart and are easily accessible off of Interstate 99.

    Holiday Lights on the Lake at Lakemont Park

    Lakemont Park, located in Altoona Pennsylvania, has been a center of community activity since it opened as a trolley park in 1894. It is the home of the world’s oldest surviving wooden rollercoaster, the Leap- The-Dips, which was added to the list of National Historic Landmarks in 1996 by the National Park Service. The park hosts a state-recognized holiday light show, Holiday Lights on the Lake, from mid- November to January. A drive through tour featuring 51 acres of holiday lights & animations, plus Santa's Village filled with delicious refreshments, holiday decorations & gifts, photos with Santa & a model train village. Open 6pm-10pm nightly from November 15-January 5, 2020.
